Bio-Gen® is an line of bone substitutes and membranes for regenerating bone in dental surgeries. With more than 23 years experience in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery and Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery. 

• Bio-Gen® is an heterologous material. Its origin is equine.
• Bio-Gen® is safe: the European Directive 2003/32/CE1 defines equine-derived materials as safer, since no diseases, transmittable from horses to men, are currently known.
• Bio-Gen® is osteoconductive: Mammals share a very similar trabecular structure. Equine bones can be cut in order to achieve sections showing the same trabecular structure of human bone.
• Thanks to careful selection of enzymes in the various processing steps and to the absence of aggressive chemical substances or physical conditions, the collagen component and mechanical resistance of the tissues of origin is preserved unaltered.
• The bone substitute consequently undergoes a total remodelling process, in the end being completely substituted by endogenous bone in physiological times. 
• The best possible condition for osseointegrated implants.
• Bioteck Bone Graft Material & membranes are accepted by the patient: In a multi-ethnical population comprising people belonging to different religions, patients would not accept other bone grafts (human, porcine or bovine).

Granular bone substitutes are the most used, traditional format.                                 

Bioteck granular grafts are available in different formats: 

The standard granule size 0.5 – 1 mm is applied in most cases.                                         

Greater granule size is indicated specifically for sinus lift.  

Granular grafts are available as cancellous granules or cortical granules or a mixture of both. 

Cancellous (spongy) granules remodels in 4-6 months

Cortical granules remodels in 8-12 months. 

Cancellous granules should be grafted in small, 4-walls cavities.

If the volume is greater and bone walls are missing, cortical granules are preferred. 

The mixture has both components and can be used for all the applications
